WhatsApp is the most popular messaging application, but it is inferior in functionality, for example, to Telegram. Nevertheless, the developers regularly add new functions and expand the list of application features.
According to the latest news, the app is finally allowing users to choose the quality of the videos they send. Users can send various types of media to WhatsApp, including videos. However, the platform automatically compresses the video at the time of publishing. The only way to share an original quality video on WhatsApp is to send the file as a document.
This feature appeared in the beta version of WhatsApp 126.96.36.199 for Android. Users can choose from three options: Auto (Recommended), Best Quality, and Data Saver.
This function is currently under development, after which it will be available to all users of the messenger.
This week, WhatsApp beta also found disappearing photos and videos, and the ability to work across multiple devices.
